embarassing confession: My knowledge of position:relative and position:absolute is limited.
Fortunately, I’ve fixed it somewhat by reading through this:
Learn CSS Positioning in Ten Steps
here’s the gist: absolute and relative positioning are pretty worthless on their own, but when you combine them with parent-child element relationships, THEY ARE UNSTOPPABLE pretty cool.
tangential remark: i also have a great question to ask interviewing designers now too: “Tell me what you know about CSS positioning.”
